How to Apply

MATHS-DISC is open to students who have already obtained a first university degree with an equivalent of at least 180 ECTS credits (in the European system or equivalent) after at least three years of study at Bachelor of Science level in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics or in related fields (Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics) with a strong mathematical background.

The BSc degree must be completed before 31 July for non-EU students and before 30 September for EU students.

  • Basic knowledge of Calculus (18 ECTS)
  • Linear Algebra (6 ECTS)
  • Numerical Analysis (6 ECTS)
  • Programming skills (6 ECTS)
  • Statistics (6 ECTS)

MATHS-DISC applicants must provide the following documents and information (in English, PDF format required)

  • National ID/Passport
  • Official academic transcripts of records and degrees obtained at the time of the application (level 6 ISCED mandatory) with official certified english translations
  • CGPA score (mandatorily larger than 75%)
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • CV in Europass format
  • Motivation letter
  • Choice of type of Scholarship (EMJM, targeted region Scholarship, Consortium funded scholarships)

Applicants must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. An applicant whose native language is not English must pass a recognised international English test:

  • TOEFL: CBT 220, ITP 550, IBT 80
  • Cambridge B2 First Test: 173 or higher
  • Cambridge C1 Advanced Test: 160 or higher
  • IELTS: 6.5 or higher
  • TOEIC: 800

No other test is recognised. The results provided must not be older than 3 years at the time of the application. Applicants who carried out their studies in English (official confirmation letter from their university is needed) are eligible without providing such a test result.

The main application round is open every year  in the period January 1st - March 15  for students applying for EMJM scholarships, EU targeted regions scholarships, consortium-funded scholarships or self-funded students

A second application round is open between May 1st and June 15.

A third application round can be open between July 15 and August 31.
