Many specialisation courses leading to a wide range of cross-cutting skills in the use of large-scale computing techniques and platforms, the development and acceleration of large-scale applications and large computational requirements. Multidisciplinary Design Optimisation Laboratory (MDOL) for the development and application of numerical optimisation algorithms to complex engineering problems such as aerodynamics and control.

Graduates will be able to use MSODE methods to analyse energy markets, simulate energy systems, and forecast energy prices. They will also be able to develop strategies to optimise energy production, distribution, and consumption

Internships/MT opportunities at associated partner NTNU , whose strategic research area “NTNU Energy” offers a wide range of funded projects at their specialised Energy Teams (Battery, Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS), Hydrogen, Hydropower, Solar, Smartgrid, Wind, Transition).

Graduates will be able to use MSODE methods to improve crop yields, reduce environmental impact, and increase food safety. They will also be able to develop precision agriculture systems that use data and technology to optimise farming practices

Elective courses from the Master in Transportation Systems and Minor in Industrial and Systems Management (project and operations management and logistics, information systems and methods for complex systems modelling and optimization).

Graduates will be able to use MSODE methods to develop new diagnostic tools, predict disease outbreaks, and improve treatment outcomes. They will also be able to use data science to analyse large datasets of medical data to improve healthcare outcomes

• Minor in Medical Physics (skills in imaging and/or therapy equipment applications, contrast materials and radiopharmaceuticals, measurement and assessment of dosing administration and biological effects of radiations) and several biomedical master programs and Research Centers giving internships/MT opportunities.
• Research Center CEMAT with a group on mathematical modelling in biomedicine with internships/MTs, e.g. within the funded project “Mathematical analysis and numerical simulations of optimal control problems in Hemodynamics”.
